Datin Malihah received her early education in Perak and obtained her Diploma in Secretarialship in 1976. She previously served in the Prime Minister's Department for 6 years followed by serving yet another 2 years in the Ministry of National and Rural Development. She later served as the spouse of the Malaysian Ambassador in the Malaysian Embassy in several countries which includes China, USA, Nigeria.

As the wife of an Ambassador, Datin is well-exposed to the etiquette and entertaining of dignitaries from the world over. As part of her portfolio, Datin frequently receive guests to her residence for luncheons and dinners. She has vast experience in the etiquette of speech, body language, fashion-sense, table setting and the art of hospitality.
